I listed Gail Gibbons' as a mulitgenre author. She has a huge variety of topics and her books are on the line of literary nonfiction. A few noticings in her books:
detailed pictures
appealing to a young audience
short pieces of text on each page
wide range of topics - recycling to football books
text is written differently depending on the book
Her website gives lots of information on Gail Gibbons to find out about the author and she discusses how she writes different books.
